Top universities in India 2025

Ahead of the 97th edition of the Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, we’ve taken a look at where the 2025 nominees went to university to prep themselves for careers in the film industry.

Although some of the talent did not attend university, choosing instead to dive straight into work, there are 92 universities, theatre schools and specialist schools from all over the world on this year’s list.

Africa is home to some of the world’s most diverse landscapes, from towering mountains to sweeping plains to lush forests, and some of these stunning features end up being part of a university campus. 

Australia is one of the most popular destinations for higher education. Many of Australia’s universities rank highly in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings , performing well in teaching and learning, research output and international outlook.

When you think about classic, beautiful university buildings, the UK will usually be one of the first countries you think of. Home to some of the oldest universities in the world, many of its universities have been used as filming locations for period dramas and epic films. 

Here at Times Higher Education Student we have thought long and hard about which universities are deemed the most beautiful in the UK, with rolling green spaces, and Gothic and modern buildings.
