Although they share a border, there are some differences in how university life takes place in each country. Canada has a simpler application process, but the US has more universities to choose from.

Successful applicants are notified in August, and awards are presented during the annual Coronation Ball, a yearly, themed, black-tie event thrown by the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose (ISCWR), a non-profit orgnisation supporting the LGBTQ community in Alberta.
