Massachusetts offers a rich array of things to do and has a significant and unique place in American history and culture, and continues to contribute to its varied culture.

Massachusetts is well known for being a hub of biotechnology, engineering, higher education, finance, and maritime trade. While Boston is a hub for students there are many great things to explore in scenic Cape Cod or nearby Nantucket.

The Midwest of the United States is a large chunk in the centre of the country consisting of 12 states. 

Each state has its own unique identity. Some of the states form part of the Great Lakes region, which includes Lake Michigan, the only lake located entirely within the US. 

The largest city in the Midwest is Chicago, a hub of industry and innovation. However, other states such as Michigan and Ohio are known for their sweeping landscapes. 

The area is also known for its vibrant music scene including jazz, bluegrass, rock ’n’ roll, blues and funk.

Seattle is an American metropolis in the northwestern state of Washington, constructed as a port town on the Atlantic Ocean. Education is an integral part of the city, with eight higher learning institutions and more than half of the population has a college degree.

Seattle is also hailed as the birthplace of many big corporations including Microsoft, Starbucks, and Amazon.

Washington DC is the federal capital of the US and sits at the beating heart of the nation’s political and cultural scene. The city is peppered with monuments many along the National Mall. The nation’s history is preserved in the city’s famous museums including the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress (the largest in the world) and the National Archives, which house the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

Florida is the southernmost state in the USA, covering a peninsula with the Atlantic to the east side and the Gulf of Mexico on the west. Its proximity to the Caribbean and Latin America mean that Florida has a rich and diverse cultural mix and thriving arts and music scene.

The state is also famous for its theme parks – it is the home of Disney World - and nightlife as well as its natural beauty.

It has developed from a cultural centre steeped in tradition to a skyscraper city at the forefront of technological innovation. This rapid innovation extends to the higher education sector too, with the country investing heavily in bringing its universities in line with those around the world.

As one of the oldest cities in the world, Beijing has a rich history stretching back 3,000 years.

The city is home to seven Unesco World Heritage Sites including the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, Zhoukoudian and parts of the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. 

However, with a population of more than 21 million people and as China’s capital, the city's modern buildings such as the China Media Group Headquarters, China World Trade Headquarters, and Capital Museum are also impressive sights.
