The number of international students wishing to study in Canada has grown since May 2017, new research has found.  

The International Student Admissions Service (ISAS) polled 1,700 students in August and September 2017 and found that 62 per cent of respondents listed Canada as their first choice. In a similar poll carried out in April and May 2017, only 27 per cent of respondents placed Canada as their first choice.

While it is important to enjoy your university experience in the moment, it is always worth having an idea in the back of your mind about what you plan to do when you leave university. It might be further study, it might be travelling or it might be heading straight into a career.

Certain communities of students are less likely to report being satisfied with their university experience, according to a new report.

More than 6,500 students took part in an online survey conducted by Unite Students and YouthSight to discover how students felt about university life.

Universities in England have achieved their best year-on-year reduction in carbon emissions, research has found.  

The study, carried out by sustainability consultancy Brite Green, has found that carbon emissions from universities in England fell by 7 per cent in the past year compared with 10 per cent over the previous 10 years. 

Brite Green ranked the universities in England according to the percentage by which they have reduced their carbon emissions since 2005.

New research from The Student Room has found that a quarter of students who started university this September don’t feel confident about living away from home.

Male students feel slightly more prepared, with 81 per cent saying they felt prepared for university life compared with 74 per cent of female students. Respondents were the most worried about managing their personal finances (27 per cent).

J.P. Morgan has been ranked as the best undergraduate employer in the UK by students.

Based on more than 5,500 student reviews on RateMyPlacement.com throughout the 2015-16 academic year, the table ranks the top 100 organisations in the UK for graduate jobs.

To be eligible, companies must recruit more than 20 students a year on placements, internships, vacation schemes and insights and have to have at least 15 reviews on their website.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England has launched a training course for students to support the mental health of students and staff across universities in England. The course has been launched to coincide with the start of freshers’ week in the UK.

Deakin University's School of Exercise and Nutritional Science has taken the first place position for the second year running in ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments 2017.

This subject ranking from the consultancy was published for the first time in 2016, highlighting the performance of about 300 universities with sport-related units and sport science universities.
