Google has now opened up applications for its 2022 scholarships for international students.
A variety of different scholarships are available for different student groups and in a selection of countries and regions around the world.
Most students will be required to submit an online application and to supply a range of supporting materials.
Generation Google Scholarships
There are a selection of Generation Google Scholarships for a range of different locations depending on whether you are studying in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia Pacific or North America. The monetary value varies depending on which of these scholarships you apply for. Women studying computer science or a similar degree are strongly encouraged to apply.
There are also a scholarships available for women in gaming and computer science in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate student at a university for the 2021-22 academic year and intend to still be enrolled on any degree-level course for the 2022-23 academic year at a university in Europe, the Middle East or Africa.
The scholarship money must be spent on tuition costs, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for a student’s classes at their university.
The application form must be completed online and supported by a CV, academic transcripts and responses to two essay questions and a 15-minute “meet and greet” if you are shortlisted.
The deadline for applications for each of the locations is Friday 10 December 2021.

Google Europe Students with Disabilities Scholarship
Google has partnered with EmployAbility to provide scholarships for students with either visible or invisible disabilities looking to pursue an education in computer science, computer engineering or a related field. Selected students will receive a €7,000 award (or local equivalent) for the 2022-23 academic year.
To be eligible, students have to consider themselves to have a visible or a invisible disability, be enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate student at a university for the 2021-22 academic year and intend to still be enrolled on any degree-level course for the 2022-23 academic year at a university in Europe or Israel.
Applications must be completed online and supported by academic transcripts, a letter of reference and the answers to three essay questions.
The deadline for applications is Friday 31 December 2021.
Google Lime Scholarship
The Google Lime Scholarship supports students with disabilities who wish to pursue studies in the field of computer science. Google has partnered with Lime Connect, an advocacy organisation that supports students with disabilities during their education, to provide these scholarships.
This scholarship is open for those studying in the US or Canada. Selected students will receive US$10,000 or C$5,000 for the 2022-23 school year.
To be eligible, students have to consider themselves to have a visible or a invisible disability, be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2021-22 academic year and intend to still be enrolled on any degree-level course for the 2022-23 academic year at a university in the US or Canada.
Online applications must be supported with a CV, a letter of recommendation, academic transcripts and the responses to three essay questions.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 12 December 2021.
