UCL India Excellence Scholarship
The UCL India Excellence Scholarship is designed to provide support for Indian students pursuing postgraduate studies in the UK. Valued at £5,000 for one year, this scholarship is for prospective postgraduate students from India with exceptional academic records.
To qualify, a candidate must
- Have the ability to pay the international tuition fees
- Be a permanent resident of India
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an institution listed in the top 100 of the government of India’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)
- Possess a grade-point average equivalent to a UK first-class degree
- Submit a complete application for a full-time master’s degree at UCL by 5 pm BST, Thursday 29 February 2024.
There are up to 33 scholarships available for the academic year 2024-25. The £5,000 bursary can be applied for one year or 50 per cent each year for a two-year programme.
The scholarship can be held alongside other scholarships, with adjustments based on total funds received. The funds are applied first to tuition fees, with any remaining amount provided in three equal instalments for maintenance.
Successful candidates for the 2024-25 academic year will be notified in mid-May 2024.
Applicants are automatically considered upon submission of a complete admission application to UCL, cutting out the need for a separate application form.

India Future Leaders Scholarship at Imperial College London
Imperial College London has created the India Future Leaders Scholarship, worth £10,000 per student.
It is directed towards outstanding Indian graduates seeking postgraduate taught and master’s research degrees for the academic year 2024-25.
Open to international students from India, the scholarship supports full-time study and requires applicants to meet specific eligibility criteria. Candidates must be domiciles of India, able to begin studies by the start of the UK academic year September-October 2024.
Any interested candidate must submit an application to the university and have received an offer for a one-year full-time MSc or MRes in specific faculties by 11 May 2024. Subjects covered include aeronautics, chemistry, business, electrical and electronic engineering, computing and maths, among others.
A separate application form for the scholarship is not required, as each faculty will nominate top-ranked eligible candidates, and successful candidates will be notified by 30 June 2024.
