Hong Kong

Last summer, a team of Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) students held the largest student conference in Asia: the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Asia Conference (HPAIR). We welcomed more than 550 delegates from over 70 countries to our beautiful campus and enjoyed a fruitful conference on international relations with more than 100 great speakers. It was the most unforgettable experience for me. 

Asia is still the fastest growing economy in the world. Many employers are expanding into Asia, and entrepreneurial opportunities are wide open. The region is also home to awe-inspiring adventure destinations and many interesting cultures. Asia’s exciting environment and excellent prospects have attracted students from around the world for tertiary education, be it undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

The answer is…not really. In terms of academics, you really don’t have to, as almost all courses offered at universities in Hong Kong are conducted in English. The university administrations also use English to communicate with you. If you come to study in Hong Kong knowing only English, you will be just fine. Yet picking up the basics of the local language may make your life easier in Hong Kong.
