For the graduate class of 2024, time is ticking. It won’t be long before final exams are over and you’re packing up your room to head on to your next adventure. 

Life after university is a brand-new chapter that can be exciting, challenging and frustrating in equal measure – but it’s so much easier if you plan ahead. Competition for entry-level jobs can be fierce, so it’s worth thinking now about how you hope to stand out when you start applying for jobs. 

International students might not have received much teaching in English before coming to university, leaving them less confident in their academic writing ability. Even if their writing is skilled, the common misconception that native English language users are more proficient than foreign language users can easily exacerbate self-doubt.

When preparing to study abroad, one of the most important things to consider is how you will fund your studies.

There are many scholarships or partial scholarships available to international students, but trying to find the right one for you can be difficult when faced with so much choice. 

Below is a list of some of the scholarships available specifically for Chinese students, to help you begin your search. Most universities will have some form of bursary or scholarship aimed at helping international students, so this is by no means an exhaustive list.

Students who wish to study in the UK will have to familiarise themselves with Ucas, the central application system that is used to apply for all universities in the UK.

As you go through the process, you will see lots of terms, phrases and steps that may not all be familiar to you, so here are the important Ucas terms you may need to know.

There are many factors propelling the surge of international students applying for universities in Australia, including the wide spectrum of course choices, availability of scholarships and research fellowships, post-study work rights and work opportunities, and a multicultural society. 

Here are some things that international students can expect if they choose to study in Australia. 

From January 2024, international students coming to the UK will only be allowed to bring their dependants on their student visa if they are enrolled on specific postgraduate courses categorised as research programmes. These eligible programmes include PhDs, other doctoral qualifications, or master's programmes that involve research and the creation of original work.

Many university students will have exams in January and will spend much of their time in December studying for their exams.

As well as the usual tips to stay hydrated, get enough and sleep, eat well and move regularly (which are all incredibly important when you’re faced with January exams), we have some other tips that can help you to manage stress levels during this exam season.

Online, digital and app-based banks offer most of the services that traditional banks provide, but are entirely based online, meaning there are no in-person branches. Instead, you can apply to open an account online or via an app, and customer service and support is available over the internet or by phone.

A big advantage of online and app-based banks is that they offer many built-in budgeting features, including notifications on your spending, the ability to set savings goals and a personal budget, as well as easy money transfer and “split-the-bill” options.
