Now that you’ve organised your student visa for the UK, it’s worth knowing if you can work while you are studying, as well as how many hours and what kind of work you can do. 

How many hours can I work as an international student in the UK? 

International students can work in the UK if they are on a student or Tier 4 visa. If you are in the UK on a visitor or short-term visa, work is not allowed at any time, including unpaid positions and volunteering.

Financial aid is when an institution provides a sum of money to its students to help pay for their time at university. It can cover a rage of things including tuition fees, accommodation, travel costs, books and living costs.

Financial aid is similar to scholarships in that it provides funding for students so that they can study at university. However, financial aid will usually be calculated based on a student’s financial circumstances whereas scholarships are usually awarded to students based on their academic achievements or the subjects they are studying.

What is Ucas extra?

Ucas extra is another feature of the Ucas application process in the UK. If you have used up all five options on your university application and have not received any offers, you still have the opportunity to apply for another university through Ucas extra.

Extra is a free service that allows students to add another university choice to their university application. This service is designed for students who applied through Ucas but did not receive any offers or decided to decline the university place they were offered.
