Master Program in School of Dental Technology

This Master's program, established in the College of Oral Medicine, is the only program of its kind dedicated to dental technology. Our comprehensive curriculum integrates professional theories from both the School of Dentistry and the School of Oral Hygiene, allowing students to develop a diverse range of skills. We provide dental professionals with knowledge of dental materials, 3-D printing, and CAD/CAM strategies. Your research will be supervised by experts from both the essential research field and clinical domains, providing a strong foundation for future work.

Overview

The Master’s program is a 2-year full-time program that leads to the award of a Master of Science (MSc) degree. Through a range of taught modules in digital dental technologies and materials, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Our program is open to motivated students with diverse backgrounds who are interested in pursuing graduate-level research in areas related to oral sciences.

Course details

We offer a robust foundation in oral science, digital dental processes and application, and oral tissue engineering , providing you with a broad range of topics to explore and multiple class options to choose from. Our advanced class in digital oral engineering involves hands-on laboratory experience using advanced technical devices such as 3D printing, CAD/CAM, and oral scanners. Additionally, our class on biomedical materials for dentistry will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the basic scientific knowledge that underpins the clinical uses of dental materials. You will have ample opportunity to conduct extensive laboratory research.

We will guide you to your areas of interest within dental technology, dentistry, and related sciences, and support you as you focus on your thesis research and conduct a scientific research project. Your findings will be presented in a format suitable for publication in conference papers or SCI journals.

 

Entry requirements

International applicants should hold a Bachelor degree accredited by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and meet the university’s language proficiency requirements.

The School of Dental Technology's Master's program combines the research skills with clinical knowledge, providing graduates with a diverse set of skills that can be applied to a wide range of career opportunities in the global dental industry. Our graduates have gone on to pursue PhD programs or careers as dental technicians in clinics or laboratories, leadership positions, R&D engineers in biotechnology industries or dental suppliers, as well as teaching or research faculty positions at domestic and foreign universities and civil service positions.
