This course prepares future petroleum engineers to design and manage drilling and production operations in order to find and produce the natural gas and oil resources that make everyday life possible.
Course details
Year one of the four-year programme will introduce the foundations of petroleum engineering; chemistry, physics, geology and calculus. Beyond this there are a number of electives covering everything from data visualisation, to reservoir dynamics, economics and social sciences, allowing you to specialise according to your interests and career ambitions.

You can apply for the Petroleum Engineering B.S at Louisiana State University through the Common App. You'll need to provide a detailed transcript of your academic record and high school grades for all courses completed between grades nine to eleven.

As a petroleum engineer, you might move to field, district, area, staff, and chief petroleum engineering positions.
