The Doctoral of TESOL program at Ho Chi Minh City Open University is designed for graduates wishing to become researchers with political quality, good ethics, in-depth knowledge of teaching English to speakers of other languages; to be able to teach postgraduate programs; to be able to undertake research independently, to identify and solve new and meaningful issues about education, to lead and supervise research projects.
Course details
The TESOL Doctoral program consists of 90 credit points for Master’s degree holders (including 20 credits for Doctoral modules, 70 credits for dissertation), articles on the content and results of scientific research works.
Entry requirements
Applicants should have a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree (with distinction) in TESOL, or master’s degree in the fields related English language, English studies/ English applied linguistics, British/ English/ American literature, Education.
Applicants are required to have publications, or research experience.
Career outcomes
We expect TESOL Doctoral graduates to work as instructors, researchers, and lead research projects in TESOL in research centers, universities, colleges in Vietnam and abroad; to work as consultants on building foreign language teaching strategies and policies to respond to economic-social development.
