On the Times Higher Education Student Twitter feed (@THEUniAdvice), we sometimes ask students to look after the account for a week to share their university experiences.
Our latest student takeover was by Saga Jonsson, an engineering student from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. KTH Royal ranked as one of the most sustainable universities in the world, in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings.
Saga shared how the university encourages sustainability as well as what it’s like to study in Sweden.
Read some of her tweets below and follow the rest of her week at #UniAdviceWeek.
Hi! My name is Saga Jonsson and I'm currently studying #engineering in #energy and #environment at @KTHuniversity! This week I'll show you all about life as a student at KTH and what it's like to live in Stockholm! pic.twitter.com/U9LpmwXqDd

So why @KTHuniversity? Coming from a small town I wanted to move to a larger city for my university studies. KTH was my main choice since it is located in the capital, #Stockholm, has a good ranking and invests in research in #sustainability and #environment pic.twitter.com/JPFUcq3Phm

One thing I just love about #Stockholm is how easy it is with sustainable transportation! All of the busses, trams and metros run on #renewable energy sources but you can also #cycle thanks to many separate bicycle lanes #UniAdviceWeek pic.twitter.com/1UZ1PT6SIp

When I'm not studying I'm active in the international group of @pushsverige, observing the #UNFCCC international climate change negotiations. It's a lot of fun and last December we went to #Katowice for #COP24 #UniAdviceWeek pic.twitter.com/tuKH5Vu0uI

For me it's super important to base my political engagement in science. And @KTHuniversity lays a great foundation for that. There are for example often lunch seminars that you can go to for widened perspectives. Below is a model of a wave power generator #UniAdviceWeek pic.twitter.com/zGPsuxszWL

Moving to #Stockholm for @KTHuniversity I was afraid of not finding any friends. But all programmes starts with two welcome weeks filled with activities! The trousers on the pic are typical for Swedish #engineering students, the color is unique for each programme #UniAdviceWeek pic.twitter.com/pvMjeYoMJy

I love a nice stroll when the weather allows it. And in #Stockholm you can find a lot of beautiful nature/parks close to the city center! I love the fact that I still can have evening walks by the water #UniAdviceWeek pic.twitter.com/SVeyfNDBgp

Did you know #Sweden is highly ranked as a country of #innovation? 2018 we were ranked as nr 3 in the world (Global Innovation Index)! And Stockholm is the place where it all happens #UniAdviceWeek

What do you enjoy doing after studying? I love going to interesting seminars! The picture below is from when @KateRaworth spoke about her book Doughnut Economics together with @jrockstrom. What a night that was! #UniAdviceWeek pic.twitter.com/XuCE41jEoy
