Only a forward-looking institution can help students produce outstanding research that is also applicable to a fast-changing world and evolving workplace.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), founded in 1963, is a comprehensive research institution recognised for its excellence, both regional and globally. Its main campus is located in a metropolis where students can interact with elite academics from across the world. CUHK is a centre for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research that has international social impact.

It also houses five of China’s State Key Laboratories in fields including agrobiotechnology, digestive diseases, bioactivities and clinical applications of medicinal plants, synthetic chemistry, and translational oncology.

CUHK takes great pride in its teaching and learning culture. The university’s PhD candidates are not only supervised by world-class scholars who are at the top of their fields, but also inspired them. By providing institutional, financial and personal academic support, CUHK puts its students on the right path to realising their goals.
