The Master’s program in School of Nutrition and Health Sciences was established in 1995. Our mission is to train our students to integrate theoretical and practical skills and knowledge into new exploration in the modern era of nutrition from bench to bed and from data to policy and beyond. We have aggressively expanded international collaboration in teaching and research with the world’s top universities, to provide better learning environment and opportunity for our students toward globalization.

This Master’s program aims to cultivate research talents with basic knowledge and learning attitudes in cancer biology and drug research. Our program emphasizes the originality and independent thinking, problem-solving techniques, empirical medical research capabilities, international vision and communication skills, cross-domain integration of pharmaceutical research and development of technology, as well as the clinical translation skills, etc.

The International Ph.D. Program in Medicine (IGPM) recruited its first batch of students in 2016. Supported by over 300 faculty members in the College of Medicine, IGPM students have access to a wide variety of knowledge and expertise when deciding their advisory committee.

The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme is delivered over four years and emphasises the acquisition and development of wide-ranging legal and intellectual skills. Learning and teaching are interactive and aligned with intended learning outcomes. Students are trained to apply laws and legal principles to solve real-life problems. The LLB programme provides a firm foundation for a career in law and law-related fields, public service and post-graduate studies in Hong Kong and overseas.

The International School of Medicine department’s entire program is in English. In the preparatory class, the students reach the English language proficiency required for professional, academic and societal issues. Afterwards, they start the medical education program, which provides horizontal integration among basic sciences as well as vertical integration between basic sciences and clinical sciences in the preclinical period.

The first-year courses comprise lectures and laboratory, and preclinical activities in basic sciences, dental anatomy, occlusion, and dental materials. In the second year, students are expected to develop additional preclinical skills, learn how basic science principles are applied to clinical settings, and get involved in clinical applications. Students who complete the first two years are awarded a basic medical sciences diploma.

We provide the opportunity to study up to two semesters in Europe through the Erasmus program, as well as pursue a double major or major/minor program. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory-based education and participation in research projects. Compulsory internships in the summers following the fourth and sixth semesters enable students to gain experience in the application areas of their interests. At Medipol, Computer Engineering students are also given the chance to work on research projects starting from the third year.

Our department, with its growing number of experienced and dynamic faculty members, is aiming to be a leader in both research and education. Our faculty members and graduates contribute to the development of science and technology and address the needs of our country through collaboration with national and international industry, state agencies, and research labs.
