Aletta Simpson is a fourth year student at Stellenbosch University studying for a degree in Afrikaans and Dutch. She has a BA in humanities and her majors where Afrikaans and Dutch, and English and minored in philosophy.
She often writes for Die Student (The Student), an Afrikaans blog for students that falls under one of our national newspapers Die Burger (The Citizen). She writes in Afrikaans for them. Recently she wrote about rape culture for the student newspaper Die Matie (The "Matie" - a nickname for a Stellenbosch University student).
