Winners of 2023 Global Undergraduate Research Awards announced

By seeta.bhardwa@…, 18 October, 2023

The winners and highly commended students of the 2023 Global Undergraduate Awards have been announced.

The Global Undergraduate Awards is the world’s leading undergraduate academic awards programme, which recognises high-achieving students and their outstanding coursework, shares this work with a global audience and connects students across cultures and disciplines.

A panel of judges made up of academics and industry leaders selects an overall (global) winner from each academic category, regional winners across the seven regions and highly commended students. A full list of winners can be found here.

The global winners and highly commended students will be honoured at the UA Global Summit on 5-8 November 2023 in Dublin, Ireland. They will have the chance to present their research, take part in discussions and network with fellow students and academics from around the world.

James Kenneth, from Western University and global winner in classical studies and archaeology, said: “The Global Undergraduate Awards provide an important – and all too rare – opportunity for undergrads to present their academic work in a very public forum. The international nature of the awards, combined with their rigorous review process, make it a great honor to be named a global winner.  Because the Global Undergraduate Awards are so highly regarded around the world, this award will help me stand out in my upcoming applications to master’s programmes.

“Most of all I am looking forward to meeting other students and scholars from around the world, and growing my academic network in the process.  I am also using the opportunity to conduct research for one of my current projects which focuses on the Viking age in Ireland, and I plan to visit multiple sites in and around Dublin,” he added.

The summit will also include a number of workshops, panels, and keynote addresses, bringing expert discussion on issues of global importance to students and academics.

All students and academics are welcome to attend the summit and tickets can be purchased here
