However, these days young members of the British royal family are more likely to head to university before juggling jobs alongside royal engagements and charity work.

International university rankings can be confusing. There’s no definitive list of top universities; if you’re looking for the “best universities”, you won’t find just one answer. Although university rankings are useful tools for comparing universities, the relevancy and accuracy of the results depend on what you are really looking for, whether that may be institutions in a specific country, the best universities for a specific degree subject or a specific type of environment.

What are the Times Higher Education World University Rankings?

The THE World University Rankings are the gold standard global higher education ranking system.

For more than a decade, Times Higher Education has produced an ordered list of universities, updated annually and trusted by students, parents and academics.

The universities are rated in five categories: Teaching, Research, Research Influence, Innovation and International Outlook.
