The MSc Business Analytics serves as IBSS’s flagship programme within this network. Graduates of this major go on to hold positions in data or information analysis, technical consultancy, IT project management, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) analysis. As with all IBSS programmes, the MSc Business Analytics also features a strong international component, preparing its students for global careers.

Overview

The MSc Business Analytics is a response to this rapidly changing business environment, and aims to equip the next generation of top talent with the knowledge and tools they need to integrate big data analytics into their existing professions. As a Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management (QTEM) member school, IBSS is able to provide students with additional communication and learning opportunities at 25 top schools around the world.

Course details

The major provides students with a deep understanding of cutting-edge and practice-oriented approaches to big data processing and data management, in addition to advanced business courses. This includes areas such as the analysis and modelling of large networks and companies, a range of data-processing and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in a wide variety of statistical packages suitable for analysing large data sets. IBSS students are able to take advantage of the school’s extensive industry links with companies in Suzhou and Shanghai for their research and future careers, as well as the school’s own research centres.

Entry requirements

Academic Requirements: 
An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, management, marketing, science or engineering. Prior knowledge of basic econometrics is welcome, although not required.


Minimum Entry requirements:
- UK: Upper second class (2:1) honours
- CHINA:
Double first class/SH ranking 100 universities: 75% or above
Other universities: 80% or above
- NORTH AMERICA
3.0 Cumulative CPA (out of 4) or
3.2 Cumulative CPA in the final two years of the undergraduate programme

Equivalent academic qualifications

English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 with minimum of 5.5 in each of the 4 language skills
TOEFL IBT/TOEFL IBT Home Edition: 91 with minimum 21 in each subject
Exemption: If you have fully completed/are completing a degree in a majority English-speaking country (Chinese joint venture programmes are not included). Within 2 years.
