With our Philosophy degree you’ll investigate complex contemporary problems and reshape your understanding of the world around you. You'll challenge your views and engage in debates about the mind, politics, medicine, technology and almost everything in between.
Course details
With our Philosophy degree you can study a wide range of topics – from justice, perception and ethics to the philosophies of mathematics, religion, language and art – covering ancient, early modern and contemporary philosophy. You can specialise in what interests you as you go through the course.
During your course you will engage with social, political, cultural, ethical and value issues, giving you insight into diverse contemporary problems and directly applying your skills to issues the world faces. You'll work individually and in collaboration with others, building essential analysis and team-working skills. Researching and responding to other people's work and views will give you essential skills for the workplace.
Career outcomes
Philosophy graduates are equipped to enter a variety of jobs from health service management to banking, from tourism to government. Some continue in academic study and research, or take professional or vocational training to prepare for careers in, for example, education or law.
You will develop valuable skills in reasoning, analysis, creative problem-solving, presentation and communication, preparing you for a wide range of careers.
