This masters course gives you essential skills in the areas of data preparation, data modelling, predictive modelling, and a variety of data science / analytic solution areas such as customer analytics, fraud detection and healthcare analytics. You'll learn how to apply data wrangling, analytic programming, data mining, and quantitative methods to help organisations understand past performance, predict future events, and optimise processes.
This science focussed program develops foundational knowledge in statistics, linear algebra, and computer programming in order to prepare students for data-focussed careers.
Students must complete a number of core modules to develop foundations in mathematics, before moving on to elective modules and coursework covering everything from machine learning, time series analysis, customer analytics and data visualisation.
Applicants must have a bachelors in a relevant subject with a minimum GPA of 2.65 or equivalent. Work experience or further qualifications in statistics, linear algebra, computer programming (Python and R preferred) and basic calculus are valued. International students must take an English language proficiency test such as the TOEFL iBT.
This specialised course is a perfect preparation for roles in machine learning, software development and data wrangling modelling and analysis. Since so many organisations now rely on data as a key part of their business, this qualification prepares you to work in data across a variety of industries.
