Finance and Investment Management

Developed by leading academics in the University of Liverpool’s AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accredited Management School, the Finance and Investment Management MSc  programme will equip you with the professional skills you will need to make an outstanding contribution in your organisation. 

You will gain an extensive understanding of contemporary principles of finance and investment management and how these are applied to financial intermediation, savings, and investment. You will also gain an understanding of the practices of financial markets including the use of ‘state-of-the-art’ industry analytics. 

The content of this programme is aligned with the Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA©) qualification and will equip you with the skills and competencies you will need to undertake formal CFA© Level 1 examinations.

A UK Scholarship of 10% is available for students residing in the United Kingdom. This scholarship is available for our October 2023 intake for all full master’s awards.

Course details

There are three study awards for the programme – starting with the Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) amounting to 60 credits, progressing to the Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) amounting to 120 credits and full Master of Science (MSc).

Please note - CFA affiliated status only applies to the MSc award due to the number of study hours required of a programme by the CFA © to achieve this status. Students who enrol on a PG Certificate or PG Diploma and successfully complete their award will be eligible to progress onto the full MSc.
 

Entry requirements

Applicants should possess either: 
•    A minimum of a 2:1 class degree in any subject, equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree; or 
•    Professional work experience in a related field and/or other prior qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

All applicants must provide evidence that they have an English language ability equivalent to an IELTS (academic) score of 6.5.

If you don’t have an IELTS or equivalent certificate, you can take our free online English test to assess your proficiency. You don’t need to prove your English ability if you are a national of, or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in, any of these countries.
