Overview

This MA is designed to meet the complex needs of today’s arts and cultural managers and professionals. Through a distinctive mix of theoretical, and arts-based knowledge and skills development, you will learn how to apply creative leadership and ethical principles in managing artistic excellence, cultural heritage, audience diversity and financial sustainability, at local and global levels.

Course details

Required modules such as ‘Cultural Management: the Experience’ you will see you engage with experienced cultural professionals, managers and leaders through talks, study visits and project-group activities. Students can apply for a selective-entry Collaborative Dissertation Project, organised with external arts, media and heritage organisations such as Battersea Arts Centre, Black Live Theatre, Arts Council England, Glyndebourne and more. You will be assessed through coursework, essays, reports, individual and group presentations, proposals and reviews.  

Entry requirements

Applicants to this MSc should have a high 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final or predicted mark of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme or equivalent. For those returning to study, evidence of appropriate experience will be required.
