Public Administration

Accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the master of public administration (MPA) will teach you how to apply acquired knowledge about administration, management and leadership in contemporary public and related organisations and systems. Through a mixture of modules, the course shows you how to best analyze administrative problems, craft solutions, and communicate them effectively to relevant stakeholders, while always considering accountability, effectiveness, and equity.

Overview

The master of public administration (MPA) at the AU School of Public Affairs delves into the prime components of leadership in public and nonprofit organisations, the realm of public policy, and the analysis of issues critical to public administration today.

Course details

The MPA degree program is built around 7 required core courses, 2 management electives from a list of options, and four electives or courses encompassing a selected area of concentration. Students are not required to name a concentration when applying. The total program is comprised of 13 courses or 39 credit hours.

Entry requirements

This course reviews applicants on a rolling basis until programs reach capacity. Previous academic or professional experience in public administration is valued but not required. You are expected to complete a GRE test, but GMAT or LSAT test scores are accepted under some circumstances, or if you received your undergraduate degree over five years before applying may be waived altogether.  The GRE requirement may be waived in the case of Covid-19 disruption, contact the university for more.
